Lo- Fi Artwork

Lo Fi Art

Lo-fi art is closely linked with Lo-fi music. Lo-fi stands for Low Fidelity, which means the sound quality (fidelity) of the recording contains “flaws” such as background noises and distortions. It has a long history and recognized as a style of pop music.

Today, it’s mostly associated with relaxing or chill music. If you search Lo-fi, you’ll see it’s often associated with the words “hip hop,” “chill beats” and “music for studying.”

As an art form closely connected to Lo-fi music, Lo-fi art also shares its qualities. Relaxing modern picture + Lo-fi color palette are what makes Lo-fi art, Lo-fi.

Color pallete

The colors in Lo-fi art are colors you can find in the sky during dawn and dusk.

The palette consists of muted orange highlight, red to purple main colors and blue shading.

I like using light orange for highlight, but some artists steer away from it and focus only on purple shades.

Yellow, cyan, green, white and any shades of gray are all colors to avoid in Lo-fi art.

This is the base palette I used.

Procreate

Procreate is an incredibly powerful app that is perfect for beginners and professionals alike. This application for iPad has helped me lose my fear of drawing and creating in a more fluid way and has given me the confidence to get into a world that for years I thought was only for great illustrators.

Below are the three steps I followed to create the illustration that accompanies the video above.

Pulse - Relaxing Atmosphere

See or listen the sound of water

If you spend time relaxing on a beach, fishing, on a boat, or doing anything else near water, you are no doubt feeling the powerful calming effects of water.

It is not a coincidence. Looking at the water has very real benefits for health and tranquility.

When something as simple as looking at water has such a powerful effect, it raises more questions than it answers.

  • Why does the calming effect of water relax us?
  • How does something as simple as looking at water help us feel more relaxed?
  • Is it something we can use to reduce stress?
  • Although the exact reason for the "how" is a bit of a mystery, we know a lot about the "why".
  • Science explains why we feel more relaxed looking at water on a biological level. Seeing or hearing the soothing sounds of moving water triggers a response in our brain that induces a rush of neurochemicals. These chemicals increase blood flow to the brain and heart, which induces relaxation.

The "blue mind" effect

Marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols wrote a book on the subject of water and its healing powers. It's called Blue Mind: The Surprising Science That Shows How Being Near, In, On, or Under Water Can Make You Happier, Healthier, More Connected, and Better at What You Do.

It may be one of the longest book titles you've ever seen, but it does a good job of describing some of the proven benefits of being around water. In addition, it is one of the few books on the subject. The author makes some interesting points based on his experience as a marine biologist, as well as other scientifically supported research he has conducted.

In the book, Wallace explains that looking at or being near water can provide a wide range of health benefits. These benefits include reducing stress and anxiety, increasing happiness, lowering our heart rate, and other things that extend beyond simply feeling calmer.

He calls this the "blue mind" effect, and says it's a response we have to seeing water. His book explores many reasons why water has this effect on us. Here are two of the key ideas:

There is a deep psychological bond with our ancestors

Many of our behaviors and reactions come from our DNA. This includes the way our brains react to seeing water. Wallace says this goes back to how our ancestors behaved thousands of years ago.

Our ancestors were frequently on the move and needed to find water as a matter of life and death. For generations, they focused on finding new sources of water. When they did, a calming response was triggered in their brains, something we carry with us to this day.

For all this I have proposed to create a space where the sound of intense rain, a waterfall, or the waves of a beach can help with issues such as insomnia and sleep.

Rain sounds can help us to relieve anxiety and reduce stress, give us relax for study, and help to block out noise and meditate.

Animal Companion Podcast

Animal Companion Podcast

Before I even knew the word Podcast, I was already into the world of broadcasting.

7 years working on countless radio stations in Argentina and 8 years working on radio in the Canary Islands prepared me for what I believe is my definitive format: the podcast.

"Animal companion" was born in the city of Exeter after spending 10 years without sitting in front of a microphone.

"Animal companion" is a state of mind, it is a bridge, a connection with other lives, other worlds.

If this is the first time you have heard of the Podcast, I invite you to listen to it and share it with your friends to help us grow.

This Podcast is in Spanish.

Thank you very much.

Motion

Video for Social Media posts and ads

The power of motion graphics

The power of motion graphics lies in the visual presentation. The use of graphic elements and animation techniques make it a popular medium to deliver your message in seconds and create the impact you need.

The benefit of this type of video is that it brings static graphic designs to life and easily conveys information about your brand.

The latest statistics show that people retain 95% of a message when watching video compared to 10% when reading text. This means that people are more likely to enjoy, engage with, and retain any information when you use motion graphics in your social media posts and ads.

Engagement.

When motion graphics are used in social media posts and ads, they not only attract attention but also entertain their audience. This leads to better engagement and brand awareness.

The latest research backs this up too, and according to Twitter, tweets with GIFs get 55% more engagement than those without.

Motion graphics are more attractive because they captivate your emotions. Imagine watching a short clip that sets the mood with motion graphics, strong visuals, great copy, voiceover, and sound. If you like it, chances are you will like it, comment on it, and even share it with others.

In fact, social video generates 12 times more shares than text and images combined, making it an ideal choice for social media posts, ads, presentations, promotions and more.
